Environmental Policies

Elixir Foundations has an Environmental Policy which is accessible for all members of the organisation and is also incorporated into the company induction which any party connected to the business will receive. We are also registered waste carriers and recyclers.

We recognise the role of business in delivering on the UK's commitment to reduce energy consumption under the Kyoto Agreement and are committed to reducing, reusing and recycling wherever possible to minimise the business's carbon footprint. As a business we are aiming for a waste figure of below 3% of all production.

We are constantly looking to use the latest technology to reduce noise pollution, light pollution and reduce the amount of natural resources we use. Reducing pollution and supporting environmental sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.

Our core business directly enhances the social and environmental conditions for local communities as well as stimulating the local economy both directly and indirectly through training and employment initiatives.

Environmental Commitments

Through the above we have identified the following principles relating to environmental sustainability:

• Training technicians and volunteers on environmental awareness and the requirements of our environmental procedures
• Planning and executing works to minimise environmental impacts
• Minimising emissions and non primary resources through careful selection, use and operation of machinery equipment and vehicles
• Specifying and using sustainable materials with low embedded energy
• Undertaking periodic audits of environmental policies on our sites
• Promise to only use natural and organic products, we will not use harmful pesticides or weed killers
• All technicians are formally trained on wildlife preservation
• All vehicles are targeted to be converted to biodiesel 
• Commitment to composting all green waste
