Breaking Barriers to Employment

All our employees start their time with Elixir with the induction and the Elixir pathway. The Elixir Pathway is a series of short training sessions covering basic hand tools, health and safety, industrial platform scales, industry metals identification and other hand tools relevant to the roles.

On completion of the Elixir Pathway each employee starts a Personal Development Plan (PDP).  The PDP is a powerful tool that provides clarity and direction to each individual’s future.

We are committed to providing training opportunities for each and every employee at Elixir.  We are working with our training partners Maritime Training to deliver NVQ level 2 qualifications.  This offers on the job training and assessment which provides real time experience and learning leading to a recognised qualification.

We also offer Fork Lift Truck licence courses through Linde.

We are currently running IOSH accredited courses for all our Directors, Managers and future Managers.

IOSH Managing Safely is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It's designed to give managers all they need to know to help them effectively manage health and safety in their workplace. The new high impact programme covers key health and safety issues, and also includes a section on environment protection.

The course will cover relevant issues such as:

• The concept of "managing safely"
• Identifying hazards 
• Assessing and controlling risks (risk assessment) 
• Understanding your responsibilities (i.e. the legal framework) 
• Investigating accidents and incidents 
• Measuring performance 
• Protecting our environment
